Old Dominion Electric Cooperative is a wholesale electricity provider serving more than 1.2 million members in the mid-Atlantic. ODEC hired Campfire to build public awareness and support for their proposal to build Wildcat Point, a $750 million power generation facility in Maryland. The proposal required local, state and federal regulatory approval. Community sentiment would be critical to the regulatory decision-making process.
Campfire developed a multi-year strategic communications & PR campaign to promote Wildcat Point’s benefits, contain potential opposition, and showcase ODEC’s commitment to community outreach. Services included strategic planning, message development, media relations, web design, social media, video marketing and digital advertising.
Wildcat Point won regulatory approval and broad community support. The facility is now under construction and will bring lasting jobs and revenue to the community.
